The Pride-Edition Tee, Designed by Michael J. Lopez

In celebration of Pride, Psycho Bunny is releasing a limited-edition T-shirt designed in collaboration with Psycho Bunny team member Michael J. Lopez. A visual homage, this piece honors and supports the LGBTQIA+ community with a special rainbow-colored iteration of the Bunny emblem featuring an empowering ‘LIVE OUT LOUD’ message. 

We spoke with Lopez on the driving idea behind his design concept, what Pride means to him and the positive impact he hopes this collaborative initiative will have on the community and beyond. 

For Michael, Pride is choosing life over fear, people over stigma and love over hate. Speaking about his concept and design for the Pride T-shirt, Lopez explains that the message he wanted to convey is actually quite simple and straight-forward: “LIVE your truth, be proud to be OUT and raise your voice so LOUD that everyone will have to stop and listen.”—“LIVE OUT LOUD.” as he passionately expresses it. These three printed words—juxtaposed with the colors synonymous with the community’s unity— deliver his intended message with so much confidence.

100% of the net proceeds from sales of the Pride-Edition T-shirt will be donated to the onePULSE Foundation, which was personally selected by Lopez. Moved by the incredible work of the Orlando-based nonprofit organization and motivated by its continued impact on the community, Lopez—who has called Orlando home for 28 years—says: “onePULSE is a foundation that truly wants to evoke change. They work relentlessly to lift up the voices of the voiceless and inspire hope to an ever-hurting community.”

For Lopez, giving back means that he gets to inspire hope and bring forth meaningful change. “The purpose of this Pride edition is not to dwell on the negative but to bring light to the solution.” He adds: “Our stories do not define us, our stories only echo the pain of so many others. However, my voice—I choose my voice as my super power.”
